PRODUCT OVERVIEW & WORKING PRINCIPLE
Two-stage spiral conveying for controlled poultry cooling
The SIMPLOT two-stage spiral poultry pre-chiller is used after washing and before cutting or downstream handling. Rotating spirals move poultry through two cooling sections while aeration supports water movement around the product.
The documented configuration combines a 4 m first section and a 6 m second section, with separate variable-frequency spiral drives and vortex blowers.
Residence time, water temperature and final equipment length are selected for the actual product and plant. Alternative lengths and utility configurations can be customized after project review.
